Junior to Intermediate Project Manager

Full-Time Position | Minimum Experience: 2 – 5 years

Timcon Construction has been building quality projects in the Red Deer area for 50 years.  Formed by Ulrich (Uli) Wunsch, the operation has grown with the city and region.  The company has earned a reputation for its quality product and sound management. Timcon Construction is involved in the construction of private and public projects as well as industrial plant work.  Our firm offers the full range of construction services from pre-bid to commissioning.

Timcon Construction is characterized by a combined emphasis on planning, design excellence and construction, as well as high standards of service to our clients.  We operate out of our own building/shop in Red Deer. Training in many areas such as Gold Seal Certification, Construction Management, Safety, Project Management and Technology is encouraged and ongoing. The company is technologically competent in the most common construction and management applications.  Utilizing comprehensive web-based program management systems, we have further advanced our effectiveness as a leader in the industry. Our field staff have access to the latest in laser and equipment technology as well as a current and well-maintained tool inventory and construction equipment fleet.

It is Timcon’s goal to maintain our position as a high quality medium sized builder.  Our reputation and steadily increasing volume of work supports this philosophy.  Our staff has developed the experience and enthusiasm to deliver a high-quality, economical product on schedule. The bulk of the projects that we contract are with repeat customers – Timcon has become the contractor of choice for many businesses and organizations.  The reason for this is due to the quality of people who work for and manage Timcon.  Most of our employees have been with Timcon over 10 years and some for 20 to 30+ years.

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology / Architecture or Construction Engineering Technology / Engineering Design and Drafting Technology / Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalents
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a certified technologist with ASET (CET or RET) / (GSC) Gold Seal Certification / PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalents
  • Five or more years of direct work experience in construction project management / estimating / scheduling / budgets & cost control / resource allocation / document control / Design Build
  • Exposure and Ability to manage projects in the any range of budget or complexity.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and provide a Leadership Roll with clients, designers, site superintendents, subtrades and other project stakeholders. Manage superintendents, labour force and subcontractors.
  • Ability to answer tender calls, development of various Proposals, direct Pre-construction / Construction and Post-Construction phases, Project Turn-over and Warranty Inspections
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and project tracking skills / techniques.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities that exist within a small organization.
  • A strong working knowledge of computer literacy, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, Project Management Software, etc.
  • Ability to engage, guide and support stakeholders (sub-contractors, consultants, employees, public, etc.) and to maintain strong collaboration and communication within these groups.
  • Ensure compliance with client and project requirements, liaison with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
  • Monitor quality control, safety, and environmental requirements while maintaining a direct roll in the company Safety and Quality Assurance Programs
  • Possess a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.

Journeyman Carpenter

Pre-requisites:

The successful candidate must be a Journeyman Carpenter with experience in the construction of buildings and/or engineered work projects.  Experience in concrete formwork would be an asset.

Project Superintendent

Pre-requisites:

The successful candiate must be willing to work in a “hands-on” supervisory role for both Timcon crew and Sub-trade Contractors.  The individual must have a minimum of five years of supervisor experience in the construction of buildings and/or engineered work projects. Experience in concrete formwork would be an asset.
